Summerhill is ideal for a family weekend getaway or a business person who would like to wake up in the countryside. Relaxing, peaceful and children-friendly with many farm animals.

Summerhill is 5km from Worcester and 1hour 15min from Cape Town. It is ideally situated for the exploration of the Breede River Valley and Route 62 or for business travelers to Worcester.

All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, air conditioners, fridges, televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. Three of these cosy units are self-catering.

Accommodation at Summerhill

Upon entering the gates of the Guest House one steps into a verdant, luxuriant forested oasis that regenerates and revitalises the soul. Inspiration, individuality, comfort and congeniality have all found a home at Summerhill.

Summerhill Guest Farm offers a range of accommodation, from single, twin, double or family suits, carefully and tastefully furnished units dotted around the magical gardens.

There are eight units in all with three being double self catering cottages. Two of these have decks overlooking the vineyards to the mountains beyond and one which is more private has its own garden. We have two family suits, one close to the garden and the other off the Farm House veranda.

There is a double room off the herb garden with a Victorian bathroom and a family room and single room upstairs in the main farm house which dates back to 1889, with a bathroom on the landing.

The Guest House prides itself on its friendly, relaxed, and homely atmosphere and this, coupled with top quality service, has led to a high percentage of repeat visits. The guest lounge and dining room which leads on to the pool has a fireplace, television with DSTV, pizza oven and a kitchen for tea and coffee. A thatch covered patio is also available for breakfast, lazy days or sundowners.

They offer affordable, comfortable and uniquely styled South African Accommodation set in an inspirational garden paradise. We cater for everyone from families with young kids to honeymooners to mid-sized tour groups. Whatever your needs, nothing but warm hospitality and attentive service await you.

It is perfectly situated just a five minute drive from Worcester’s bustling town center with its wine farms, restaurants and shopping mall.

The guest lounge and dining room leads onto the pool area, and has a fireplace, satellite television, and an honesty bar. There is also a kitchen where you can make your own tea and coffee. A thatch-covered patio is also available for breakfast, lazy days or sundowners. Dinner is offered on request.

We are a working farm with many farm animals, including horses, goats, pigs and bunnies. We have a pool, picnic and braai facilities and are surrounded by the majestic Brandwacht Mountains, vineyards and roaming horses.

Travelling from Cape Town

Take the N1 highway in the direction of Paarl. Stay on the N1 until you arrive in Worcester. Take the flyover turn off (just after the Shell Ultra City) to the left into Brandwacht. (Sign posted Altona Boulevard/Worcester West) Drive past two traffic circles and on to the stop Street. There are now houses in front of you. At the stop street turn right drive straight up past all the houses, the road bears right, keep going and Summerhill is on the right. (About 3 km from the stop street.)

Travelling from Johannesburg

Drive on the N1 highway in the direction of Cape Town. When arriving in Worcester take the flyover turn off (just after the Casino) to the right into Brandwacht. (Sign posted Altona Boulevard/Worcester West) Drive past two traffic circles and on to the stop Street. There are now houses in front of you. At the stop street turn right drive straight up past all the houses, the road bears right, keep going and Summerhill is on the right. (About 3 km from the stop street.)

Travelling from Robertson (Route 62)

Driving to Worcester from Robertson, You will reach the T-junction of the Robertson Road and High Street. Turn left into Hoogstraat (High street), drive along High Street all the way until you get to the end of the shops. At the traffic lights at the intersection of High Street and Trappies Street turn right following the sign boards to the N1 and Cape Town. Drive through the traffic circle and directly over the N1 into Brandwacht. (Sign posted Altona Boulevard/Worcester West) Drive past two traffic circles and on to the stop Street. There are now houses in front of you. At the stop street turn right drive straight up past all the houses, the road bears right, keep going and Summerhill is on the right. Travelling from Villiersdorp (R43)

Taking the R43 (Villiersdorp High Street) towards Worcester until you get to the T Junction in Worcester, you are now on Durban Street. Turn right and drive to the second traffic light. Turn left into Trappies street and follow the sign boards to the N1 and Cape Town. Drive through the traffic circle and directly over the N1 into Brandwacht. (Sign posted Altona Boulevard/Worcester West) Drive past two traffic circles and on to the stop Street. There are now houses in front of you. At the stop street turn right drive straight up past all the houses, the road bear s right, keep going and Summerhill is on the right. (About 3 km from the stop street.)

Travelling from Ceres (R43)

Following the R43 to the intersection with the N1, turn left towards Worcester. Take the flyover turn off (just after the Shell Ultra City) to the left into Brandwacht. (Sign posted Altona Boulevard/Worcester West) Drive past two traffic circles and on to the stop Street. There are now houses in front of you.
